Legend has it that the source of Sarrabelle, which springs up near the medieval Montaigut castle, was the favored place of the beautiful Yolande. Its name comes from an old Occitan expression «sarrobello» which means to embrace one’s love. After the castle’s destruction during the crusade against the Albigeois, only the foundations remained, upon which the Montaigut Chapel was built. Today, Laurent and Fabien Caussé (8th generation of wine growers on the Sarrabelle estate) have named their wines after this lengendary source. The Caussé brother are renowned for producing top-of-the-line wines, including the Saint André and Mauzac. Their commitment to permanent research has resulted in the creation of amphora-aged wine, available in limited productron. Tradition, innovation, and quality are the hallmarks of the Caussé Brothers’ brand.
